Spam is a part of everyday life ever since email became a household term. There are some days where I get a few spam messages while other days there are dozens of unwanted, unsolicited junk emails.
The Shotgun Method
There’s power in numbers and that’s the basic underlying principle behind email spam or any advertising spam for that matter. The most ‘crap’ that you push to the public, the more success you will get for your product. If you only get a 0.001% success rate with your email spam but you send it out to 100 million people, that will result 1000 sells. Lots of guys prefer the shotgun method when it comes to girls as well because the more girls you ask out, the more likelihood that at last one will be willing.
Weird Spam
So the other day, I received the following spam in my hotmail account:
LASIK - Prices starting at $299 per eye- No Interest until 2009
I used to think that getting spam about “pumps” and Viagra were weird but that’s nothing compared to surgery that you can book online based purely on the price. What is this world coming to?! Why would anyone agree to sign-up for laser eye surgery online?! Isn’t vision the most important of the five senses that we have?!
They do say that a sucker is born every minute so why not capitalize on it, right?
