When I was a kid, I was silly and assumed that it was quite hard to become a bus driver. I always thought you needed a perfect driving record for 10-15 years before they even considered you. Maybe that’s still the case and their true colors only come through once they get the job. It’s similar to how people act and pretend in job interviews. They present themselves as diligent, hard-working, and determined when they are grilled for the union job but they turn out to be slackers once they are hired because they know they can’t get fired. Whatever the reason is, all I can say is that bus drivers in Vancouver are crazy SOBs. There are no other types of driver that run as many red lights as bus drivers. Maybe they think they are all mighty with their big ride but they are not considerate of other vehicles on the road. The scary part is that I’ve seen many bus drivers talking on their cell phones while driving!

According to a passenger, he was quite nervous and freaked out when he took a bus in Vancouver because the bus driver was busy talking on his cell phone. The bus driver wasn’t paying attention to everything he was doing and once the passenger mentioned it to him, the driver was rude and didn’t acknowledge what he was doing. Even a complaint voice message to the bus company did not get any response back.
They aren’t the best at what they do and yet they are always threatening to go on strike to get more money. Boy, another example of unions at their finest and brightest.
