If you happen to have one million Euros in your pocket that you are dying to get rid of, what better way to fulfill that desire than to blow it on Lamborghini’s newest supercar? They call it the Lamborghini Reventon after a bull that killed matador Felix Guzman in 1943. Bulls are fierce and dangerous, enough to kill a man, which is fitting for a powerful car that can’t be pushed on public streets. By the way, how much is one million Euros? That’s only $1.4 million US dollars which is what Roger Federer won at the US Open this year.
Reventon, the attention grabber:

SOLD OUT
Even if you have the dough, you can’t buy the Reventon because it’s already all gone! They don’t actually start production on the car until January of 2008 with an October delivery date but all 20 cars have been spoken for. Most of the buyers are men from America who are in business. You can also add a few athletes and movies in the mix as well for those who were lucky enough to claim one.
A car as an investment?
99.99% of cars in the entire industry are depreciating goods. Once you drive the car off the sales lot, it loses 20-30% of its value right way. After that, the first 3-4 years are the steepest for a car’s decline in value and then it slowly welters away until it’s worthless (like m y current car). The Lamborghini Reventon would be an exception to this rule because of its rarity. I’m sure an owner could carefully drive it for a year while maintaining its condition, and sell it for a profit to another collector with ease. I know that for rare production cars like the Ferrari Enzo and F40, Ferrari actually leases the car to people so that they can’t flip it for a profit. Like they teach you in Economics, supply equals demand which means that a small supply will cause a huge demand which will drive up the price.
Specs and Design
Lamborghini’s engineers took inspiration from a fighter jet and reworked the composite carbon fiber body to accentuate the sleekness and angular edges usually associated with its cars. (Source: Yahoo!). The Reventon will have a mid-mounted V12 engine that displaces 6.5 liters and outputs 650 mind-blowing horsepower. This beast will go from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 211 miles per hour.
Forget the lottery here in Canada; I would need to win the Powerball lottery to even afford this car! The insurance and maintenance would be difficult enough for people to even afford!
