Talk about momentum after his first-ever defeat in round robin play, Roger Federer picked up his play for his final four matches of the season and has clinched his fourth Masters Cup title. Federer blitzed David Ferrer in three quick sets to capture the title and add another trophy to his mantle. The final score was 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 for Federer and he took home a cool $1.2 million for another week of work. He breaks his own record of the $8 million he made last year in prize earnings with a cool $10 million for 2007.
Roger Federer was asked what advice he would offer a player getting ready to face him.
“Don’t even try, pal,” the top-ranked Swiss star said. “You’re probably not going to win.”
While Federer was quick to say he was joking, it is pretty accurate right now.
“He’s playing very, very well,” Ferrer said in a bit of an understatement. “He has no weak point.”
