I was going to dedicate the entire evening tonight to the presentation and look/feel of the blog but to my dismay, the entire site was down. I’m not too sure if it’s because I deleted a table or not in my database but I got the nasty “internal server error” message.
I didn’t panic or anything because I did have a backup copy of all my postings but it would have been a pain to start over again. I know absolutely nothing about MySQL and the database but I just exported the entire database to a new one and pointed the blog towards that dbase. Anyways, it was quite an uneventful night and although I have nothing to show for it, I did learn a bit about the inner workings and backend of the site.
I also managed to restring two of my tennis racquets so the night wasn’t a complete write-off. It gives me a better appreciation of the successful blogs out there because it’s not just ramblings that they post, there’s a lot of behind the scenes maintenance that goes unnoticed. I’ll try my luck again in a few days to change the theme templates.
