At work right now, the office has been undergoing massive renovations and construction. The contractors promised that they would be finished by Labor Day which was Sept 3rd but that didn’t happen. Fast forward to the 9th of September and the office is still a mess.
Not actually the office but you get the picture:
Luckily for us, the summer months allows us to go “casual dress” from May to the end of August. Because the messy renovations will last a month longer than expected, our casual dress is also extended for a month. What a relief! It’s not a comfortable situation to be wearing a dress shirt and tie while the blade saws are running and the sand-dust is circulating in the air. Seeing how the next major renovations won’t be for another ten years, it’s good to take advantage of it now.
So for another 3 weeks, it will be polo/golf shirts and khakis. I don’t really see why we don’t get to go “business casual” for the entire year because it increases productivity with the more relaxed environment. The delays will also gives me another 3 weeks to look for clothes because I’m out of stuff. My nice Ralph Lauren dress pants were damaged by the dry cleaners a few months ago.
Some of my dress shirts need to be replaced because my skin cream has discolored them.
