On the eve before the start of Wimbledon, Serena Williams is talking big about her chances at the All England Club.
“I think I’m still the best player out there when I’m playing well,” she told reporters at Wimbledon on Saturday.
“When I’m playing well, it’s hard for anyone to beat me … it’s just a fact. I don’t think that anybody who has to play me goes home and shouts for joy.”
Just a fact?! The fact is she’s not the favorite and she’s out of shape. Justine Henin and Amelie Muresmo are the favorites to win the grass tournament. She hasn’t played in any grass tune-ups leading up to Wimbledon and she thinks she’s the favorite? She’s not even the defending champion at Wimbledon, losing in the 3rd round of the event last year.
I have never seen anyone talk so much crap before in any sport. When she wins, it’s because she’s so good and when she loses, it’s because she plays poorly. She never gives credit to her opponent. I don’t really like her sister, Venus, either but at least she’s gracious in victory and defeat.
Note to the cow: divas are in show biz, not athletics!
