Who ever invented the term, “Sunday drivers” was spot-on with their assessment of the driving behavior of people on the first day of the week. Do these people all take transit during the week and forget how to drive during the weekend? I’m sure it’s Sunday everyday for retirees in White Rock, Parksville, and a lot of areas of Florida where senior citizens go to relax, but in vibrant and busy downtown Vancouver, it’s really unacceptable. I do not advocate or condone breaking any traffic rules but please, just drive the freaking speed limit! It’s ironic but I’ve seen a few “baby onboard” cars that are the worst traffic offenders out there. I’m not the world’s greatest driver but I’m not aggressive or drive retarded. I usually drive at 10 kms/hour above the speed limit and in a safe manner. Sunday drivers seem to take the mentality of driving 10 kms/hour UNDER the speed limit and have a lead foot when it comes to hitting the brakes at the most startling times. I know police officers can ticket people who drive too slowly but do they ever issue a ticket for that offence? Time is money and if someone is holding up traffic by driving too slow, they should have to pay. End of rant.
Go the speed limit!
